My Journey
I am a Biotechnologist by training. I graduated with a Ph.D. in Biology and have since pursued a career in the field. My research focuses on the application of biotechnology to unravel the mysteries of medicinally and economically significant plants.
I have a particular interest in the sciences behind the production of plant compounds and their novel applications in the field of medicine and industry. I have applied this knowledge to study an anti-colorectal cancer substance from the plant Alpinia galanga (Thai ginger) and elucidate the genes of the Digoxin (Heart failure treating drug) biosynthetic pathway in Digitalis lanata (woolly foxglove).
